Welcome to The Arts Society Bishop’s Stortford

The Society was formed in 1976 and is a registered charity. We are a member society of The Arts Society, a leading arts education charity with a global network of over 380 local societies, bringing people together through a shared curiosity for the arts.

Our programme of events provides opportunities to hear expert lecturers share their specialist knowledge about the arts and to visit places of historical, artistic and cultural interest. In addition to our monthly lectures we run 2 Special Interest Days, in January and in August. These days comprise 3 lectures and include breaks for tea/coffee and lunch.  Details of our current programme of lectures and outings can be found by following the links in the menu above.

Our venue at the South Mill Arts provides excellent technical facilities and an opportunity to meet and share refreshment with friends before and after our lectures.

We also seek to be part of the local community through our Young Arts initiatives, working closely with primary and senior schools to support creative projects. Visit our Young Arts page to find out about our current projects.

We hope that you will explore our website to find out more about our current events and how you may join as a member. If you would like any further information please use the contact button at the top right of the screen.
